Gordon Learning Factory by Jackson Galichon, Daniel Gerhart, Adam Schifsky and Michael Whelihan, advised by Sean Knecht, associate teaching professor of engineering design “3D-Printed Balance Bike” for The Bernard M.“Variable Blade Angle Pump Impeller” for Flowserve Corporation by Carter Houseknecht, Jackson Quedenfeld, Jordan Smith and Vincenzo Zook, advised by Alexander Rattner, Dorothy Quiggle Career Development Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering.“Sustainable Use of Reclaimed Fiber Product from Recycled Paper Manufacturing” for Team Ten LLC by Neal Desai, Brandon Wehbey and Youngsuk Youn, advised by Allen Kimel, associate teaching professor of materials science and engineering.Two teams received the first place Best Project Award: The projects were sponsored by nearly 60 groups in academia, industry and government. Students completed the projects, intended to present solutions for real-world engineering problems and design challenges, for their senior capstone design courses. Engineering students from the senior capstone design courses in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, engineering design, industrial engineering, materials science and mechanical engineering presented the culmination of their semester-long projects at the events.
